A five-year partnership in the design, construction and operation of Supersmith, a 7,000 sf shared workshop built inside a former plumbing warehouse in the waterfront Brooklyn community of Red Hook. Since its establishment in 2014, the space has housed dozens of craftspeople of all kinds, sharing facilities with wood-working equipment, metal fabrication, ceramic and photography studios, retail and event spaces and a barber shop. In addition to providing workspace, tools and opportunities for its residents, Supersmith rapidly grew into a neighborhood resource for classes, workshops, materials, community partnerships and events, and continues to develop as a vital part of the Red Hook neighborhood today.
